Sanjaya Dealing With Life As A Celebrity
Sanjaya Malakar, recently ousted from American Idol can't go anywhere without being noticed.
He talked of his newly found fame on a Monday appearance of Regis and Kelly. "It's really weird. I mean, I'm just Sanjaya from Seattle."
Asked about how he is dealing with the legions of adoring fans, the 17-year old entertainer said "It's paparazzi that get at you, and fans come up and try to give you hugs and get autographs. I would love to just be able to hug everyone and give autographs and take pictures, but you can't."
Sanjaya has been making his rounds this week, attending a dinner at the White House and appearing on The Late Show with David Letterman.
Despite his quick rise to fame, Sanjaya plans on being in the spotlight for a long time. "What I want to do is experience the whole entertainment business because, I mean, I'm not just a musician, I'm an entertainer," he said.
