Haley Scarnato Eliminated From American Idol - Phil and Chris in Bottom Three
Despite Simon's comments, neither Haley's singing or her lack of clothing on Tuesday night could keep her on the show. She was eliminated on Wednesday night, becoming the 5th finalist to be given the boot. Seven contestants remain, and will perform next Tuesday, April 17th on Country night with Martina McBride.
Scarnato's performance of "Turn the Beat Around" was criticized by the judges. Simon Cowell commented that Haley's tactic must be to wear "as little clothes as possible". Phil Stacey and Chris Richardson rounded out the bottom three. Phil performed "Maria, Maria" to mixed reviews, and Richardson sang Santana's "Smooth". The judges seemed to like Chris' performance, but The Idol Buzz gave him a low score.
